Ode to Out-Of-Focus Button

Damn fabric taking all the attention

Damn fabric taking all the attention

Dear Button,

The fabric imposes it’s color and attitude,
Flashing and dashing about these chilly times, but you,
You quietly tuck it in.
You are used, button.
How the fingers reach for you mindlessly,
Push you around, back and forth, in and out, yet
You obey.
Unlike others, you anchor yourself in place and simply take the abuse.
They underestimate you, button.

I notice.
How you hold a crazy day together!
Without your security, why, one could flap about or fall apart.
I need you in so many ways.
I love you button,
However out-of-focus.

Wa’am
